This report publicly shares details of confidential information submitted via e-mail by V-Nova to the official ISO/MPEG SC29/AG5 MPEG Visual Quality Assessment mailing list. V-Nova categorically states that we have not shared the contents of this e-mail in whole or part with Faultline or any other non-MPEG participant.

Any statements, characterizations and conclusions drawn by journalists are their own interpretations and do not reflect V-Nova’s position.  We remain committed to upholding MPEG’s confidentiality and are concerned about the reputational damage this leak may cause to both V‑Nova and MPEG.

V-Nova further notes that the article’s statement regarding the potential for MPEG to “drop LCEVC altogether” is incorrect and may be misunderstood by readers. LCEVC is a finalized in-force ISO standard, ISO 23094-2:2021, normatively referenced by several other international standards specifications.

V-Nova affirms its ongoing commitment to ISO/MPEG standards, processes and governing policies and its commitment to continue participation to ISO/MPEG activities.
